About

Who We Are

The Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise (KFCE) is a not-for-profit community organisation, formed by residents of Kangaroo Flat and Districts to provide community input and resources into local initiatives, programs and facilities.

Our board members are volunteers who oversee the governance of KFCE, set the strategic direction and develop partnerships with key agencies and community groups to progress our objectives.

We operate through relationships developed with our major business partners: Bendigo Bank and Bendigo Telco. By promoting these great local banking and telecommunication services, we receive a commission. When you transfer your banking and phone/internet business, you can choose to “tag” the Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise and generate an income stream that helps fund our local community projects and initiatives.

Since its inception the Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise has donated over $800,000 to various not- for- profit community groups in Kangaroo Flat, Golden Square, Maiden Gully, Marong, Lockwood and Big Hill. We’ve provided grants to junior and senior sporting groups, primary schools, fire brigades and dance groups, as well as helping some organisations to purchase their own defibrillator.

Another important way we help is to advocate on behalf of our local communities. We heard our community in their call for a 50-metre pool for Kangaroo Flat, and now our entire region is benefiting from the Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre. We also donated $100,000 towards the project, and led a major fundraising effort to help reach a target of $1 million dollars.

Latest Projects

JB Osborne Theatre

Our most recent project is the redevelopment of JB Osborne Theatre. Building on the success of the Gurri Wanyarra project to bring sport and health benefits to the Kangaroo Flat community, we are now focussed on an inclusive and creative space to bring social and mental wellbeing to all residents.
