A Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise newsletter, Flat Matters is published from February to December each year to enable local businesses, clubs, groups and organisations to get their message out into the local community. Articles and advertisements received by the 20th of each month in the following month’s Flat Matters which is distributed the first week of each month to subscribers, social media and web and local outlets.
A forum involving key Bendigo real estate agencies has highlighted the escalating housing crisis in regional Victoria.
The forum was organised by The Nationals’ Member for Northern Victoria Gaelle Broad and Nationals’ Member for Ovens Valley and Shadow Minister for Consumer Affairs Tim

The City of Greater Bendigo is offering a low cost, four week Women’s Self Defence and Situational Awareness Group program designed for women aged 55 plus to promote positive ageing in a fun, safe, and empowering space where they can connect and learn together.
Classes will take place each Thursday.

Flat Matters talks with Probus Kangaroo Flat.
It's for active retirees, and it is all about fellowship, friendship and fun.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each the month at St Mary’s Anglican Church Complex at 9.45am.

The unseasonal dry weather has put additional financial pressure on families on the outskirts of the region as they had to purchase water supplies to get through one of the driest periods on record.
Water Carters have told FLAT MATTERS it has been an exceptionally busy time as tankers delivered water across the region.
Coliban Water reports that water demand at the standpipe in Kangaroo Flat reflects the
impact of the dry spell.

A new regional timetable has been implemented by V/Line.
Five new weekend services have been added to the Bendigo line including late night trains from Melbourne to Bendigo.
Other changes include the provision to five Bendigo services which now have 6-car V/Line trains instead of a 3-car train thus ultimately providing more seats on the Bendigo line.
